White Water Builder is for women who are new to surfing or still riding foam. Learning paddling, pop-ups, board control and confidence in the ocean – all with the goal of progressing to unbroken green waves.
The Sevana was built from the ground up by a solo woman surfer and offers small, women-only surf retreats in southern Sri Lanka, designed specifically for adult women who are passionate about learning to surf or ready to progress with confidence.
Each retreat is built around one surf level only (Whitewater Builder, Green Wave Improver or Independent Surfer), with a maximum of five women per group, ensuring personalised coaching, appropriate wave selection and a supportive, non-intimidating environment.
These retreats are ideal for women who:
– Started surfing as adults and are keen to progress later in life
– Surf inconsistently and want real progression
– Feel stuck between levels or generally blocked
– Want empathetic and personalised support to work on specific challenges
– Want focused coaching without the chaos of mixed-level camps
Coaching is women-led, thoughtful and adaptive with video analysis, surf theory, daily feedback and a pre-arrival surf-ready programme and a take-home plan – progression is supported both in and out of the water.
Guests stay in a calm, design-led boutique hotel set within three acres of peaceful Sri Lankan landscape, with chef-prepared meals, a pool, gym and yoga area.
Retreats balance surf progression with rest, recovery and connection. The Sevana is woman-owned and community-minded, with a portion of retreat income supporting local women’s empowerment initiatives.
