All Things Surf Directory will change the way you surf. Ok, maybe not.

All Things Surf Directory… how did it come about?

When I set the rule of no promos ever of any kind whatsoever as one of the guiding principles for Girls Who Can’t Surf Good on Facebook—which now stands at close to 86,000 members—I just wanted to keep the group noise-free. But you can’t always rely on someone seeing your question and responding with a recommendation at the exact moment you need it. And let’s be honest—Facebook’s algorithm suuuuuucks. You have zero control over it.

When I started building The Wipeout Weekly about a year ago as the external presence for Girls Who Can’t Surf Good and beyond, I began with the writing, because that’s what I love doing.

A directory for all the surf stuff was always on my mind—but it was a much heavier lift than sharing surf knowledge and sending a weekly newsletter or recording a daily podcast. Turns out infrastructure takes time. Who knew.

It took longer than I expected, mostly because I couldn’t do it alone. But it’s finally here. And in hindsight, I’m glad I didn’t rush it—otherwise we might not have added things like Classifieds, a global surf event calendar, or a surf-side Airbnb category.

All Things Surf Directory is here

Let me introduce you to The Wipeout Weekly’s All Things Surf Directory—a curated, location-based hub for surf businesses and community listings worldwide.

Man, that does sound good. Like the sky’s the limit. I like to think of it as Willy Wonka’s Factory—but for surf stuff. In fact, I’m re-watching it (again) as I write this.

This directory is for everyone.

On one side: anyone who provides products, services, experiences, or lodging for surfers. Non-profits fundraising or seeking volunteers. Event organizers adding their upcoming events to a global surf calendar.

On the other side: anyone looking for a surf retreat, a surf coach, a second board, someone to split the cost of a surf trip with, a long list of reef-safe sunscreens, or a surf movie night in town.

The possibilities are… you know… endless.

Adding a listing is free. Using the directory is free. At least that part is simple.

We’ve split the directory into three big wave categories: Surf listings. Surf retreats & events. Surf-side lodging.

Surf listings are for any surf or surf-adjacent business—coaches, shops, photographers, rentals, shapers, wellness providers, surf non-profits, and community listings in Classifieds.

Surf retreats & events are for experiences that take place on specific dates.

If you run a surf retreat, you can create one persistent listing for your business and add multiple retreat or event listings tied to specific dates.

Surf-side lodging is for businesses or individuals offering accommodation near surf spots.

Each of these big-wave categories contains multiple subcategories to make searching easier — and we’ll keep expanding them as needed.

Adding a listing takes under a minute if you have one image under 2MB ready to go. Even though the directory is location-based, you never have to provide a full address (important for Classifieds and lodging)—you can simply drop a pin on the map.

To find whatever you’re looking for, head to the Surf Directory, browse, search, or use the general search function on The Wipeout Weekly website.

And bear in mind—we’re announcing it today. So for now, you might just want to scroll. More coming very soon.
