Why Surfin Fire? The surf school was founded by an Encinitas firefighter and father to Kyla who is now the owner and operator of its Oceanside Pier location where she built a very supportive, fun, inspiring community of female surfers. When Kyla was seven years old, her dad didn’t want to put her and her sister in just any surf camp because he knew how unpredictable the ocean could be…so he thought, why not him, with his fireman and lifeguard experience?
